Guess Who's Walkin'

I thought this picture was a good example of what all Mason is getting into at this stage. He is finally walking! The Monday before Thanksgiving he figured out how to take more than just a few steps at a time. He still is pretty wobbly, but that's part of the fun. Another fun thing now is Pat-a-Cake. He's liked it for a while, but now he can "roll 'em up" and has a little "rrrr up!" sound he make with it. This one video is long but captures several of his new skills.

Halloween '09

Mariah and Mason were M&M's this year. Mariah came up with the idea to be a pack of M&M's and we made Mason the red one. We went to the Boo Bash that morning and Mariah won in her category for the costume contest. She was so proud of her "reward", a plastic goblet filled with candy and trinkets. That night we went to Fun Fest at Crossroads Church. They had games and inflatables and gave out LOTS of candy. When we turned the corner and she saw all the inflatables she said, "that's what I was talkin' about that I wanted to do!!!" She got a heart painted on her cheek, had cotton candy and her bag was so full of candy she had to carry it with two hand at the bottom (I should have gotten a picture of that). Mason was content to sit with daddy, eat grahm crackers and watch all the people pass by and tell him how cute he was. I got to go around with Mariah to all the activities. We also visited Aunt Ruth, daddy at work, and Gi-Gi that day. What a fun day!

Dr. M. Perdue, M.D.

Thursday at Mariah's preschool was community helper dress up day. The community helper she wanted to dress up as was a doctor. Mike just loved her in her little outfit. She loved playing with the stethescope. She had a time going around seeing what made sounds and what didn't.

Fall '09

Maybe I should make some of these a little bigger. This was another time that I didn't think I had many good shots, but when I came in and put them on the computer I was pleased. I tried to capture the fall leaves and the setting sunlight... and these sweet children. These are my favorite pictures for capturing how much they love each other and make each other laugh. I love them!

Chalkin' It Up

There were so many fun pictures from Chalkin' It Up that I just had to make a collage. Lots of games and candy and fun things to do. The pictures may not be as good this small, but you can see just how much we did that day.

Kiddie Parade

This year the theme for the Tobacco & Heritage Festival was "Goin' Bananas for Festival". So I cut out a bunch of bananas and one big one. Mariah wrote the theme and her name on the big banana. When we were decorating it she said, "I hope I get 3rd place!" Well, she did! She was so proud! She loved riding around the square following the fire truck. She's been on a big kick lately about riding her bike anyway. So this was super fun this year! After the kiddie parade was "Chalkin' it Up" which made the whole day so much mor fun!!!

Just Piddlin' Farm

We go several times a year in the fall to Just Piddlin' Farm. Mariah had a thing about pumpkins last year so we kept going back. This year they added a corn box (like a sand box). We went with the neighborhood kids the same day as Jackson's Orchard.`Once the kids saw that they were done with the pumpkins. We stayed there until the moon came out! This is my favorite place for pumpkins.

Jackson's Orchard

The fall fun has begun!! We went with the neighborhood gang to Jackson's Orchard. It was my first time to go too. It was so fun! They had big slides made from tubes cut in half and a petting zoo. And, of course, lots of picture opportunities.

Go Speed Racer, Go!

I HAD to get out of the house one night, so I thought I'd let Mariah see how far she could ride on her bike. She amazed me! I pushed Mason in his stroller and she went almost a whole mile! We kept going for bike rides every night after that for quite a while. She loved it and I loved a chance to get out and walk.3a

UNO!!

Mariah's favorite new game is uno. She is pretty good at it too. She plays with all her cards facing up... and she will still beat you! She likes to play with her Daddy every night when I'm putting Mason to bed.

More Play

Mariah has figured out how a little brother likes to play now. Mason looks like he is just tolerating it. But as soon as she is done playing he is off to chase her down again. He chased her from one end of the house to the other last week (crawling of course). He was just fussin' at her the whole way because she had to make it so hard on him to get to her. He will pull up on the couch and bang on the computer when she is playing wanting her attention. And to top the cake, the other day he fell and bumped his head. But he didn't want Momma's comfort.. he wanted his Rah-Rah. (yes, I was a little hurt.)
And then I just had to throw in the random picture of Mason with the duck in his mouth. Do you think he is teething? Maybe all the droop around his mouth will help answer that qestion. :)

Too big!

Look at this big boy!! Mason started crawling on his hands and knees the day he turned eight months old. Two days later he started pulling up. We got some of Mariah's old toys down from the attic and they both went crazy over them. I stood Mason up to the LeapFrog learning table the first time and he couldn't hit everything fast enough. Mariah use to play with the buttons on the side she was standing only, then move around the table to the other buttons. Mason is all over the thing! He reaches across and almost climbs ON it to get to all the buttons. Later I was in the kitchen and I looked over at him and he had crawled over to the table and pulled up all by himself! He was a little unsteady. I've since found out that just because he can pull up doesn't mean he can get down... until he just falls. But in the video he gets a little distracted and loses it. hehe He is OK and I'm sure that won't be the last time it happens.
